What is the "real" difference between chronic fatigue syndrome and fibromyalgia?
I have been fighting chronic pain, sore throat, brain fog, concentration issues, and fatigue for years. I basically feel like I have the flu everyday of my life. After years of tests and being dismissed by my primary care physician I finally see a rheumatologist. She thinks my condition is fibromyalgia, which is some progress. My gut feeling is that I have chronic fatigue syndrome. When I asked her what the difference is she said they are the same. They are in the same class of illnesses. As I do my research, I notice that doesn't appear to be the case. Do I just let it go or push for a proper diagnosis? I must say this is a huge victory to finally have someone in the medical community acknowledge my physical pain and other symptoms. It's just nice to know I wasn't imagining how terrible I was feeling and that stress makes me feel so much worse.

i was diagnosed with chronic fatigue syndrome in february this year after suffering since march the previous year. and i didn't just go to the doctor and say " i think i have this" i was like " what. the. .??" anyway, i had over 40 different blood tests, a nerve conduction, false IV treatment for Lyme disease with a PICC line , and many visits to top doctors. i am now 14 and after sixteen months i think its almost gone... will it come back? i missed 48 days of school and had migraines all the time, i still get some though.but after all of those tests they diagnosed me with it because they didn't know what to do, and my infectious disease doctor think i got it when i had a very very very bad strep infection in my leg dr scholls ice wart remover did it . i was also put on anti depressants but they made it worse... so i just want to know, will it come back? PS they also put me on anti depressants which i stopped for hallucinations which i still have a lot.
My boyfriend maybe has chronic fatigue syndrome?
My boyfriend of 2 years started our relationship with a good amount of energy, id say normal for a man in his young 20s. However, over time, its gone downhill. He is ALWAYS tired always. He does work, about 9 hours a day M Th & 4 hours on fri. But he will be tired on the way in, after a loooong night of sleep, tired while he is there, tired on his drive home and tired till he goes to bed. He has no energy to do anything & complains when i ask him to do something remotely active. I am the same age as him, i work 10 hours a day, 5 days sometimes 6 days a week and, yea sure, work can whipe me out but i still have energy to do chores, clean up, eat dinner, take my dogs walking and sometimes go out afterwards. I sleep normally and would say i have a good body clock. He tries to tell me im nuts for being so awake and that its normal for him to be sleepy all of the time since he works. Im not buying it. I think he has chronic fatigue syndrome... He also has IBS. Anyone with advice or thoughts?? I feel bad because he is a great guy and id love to help me get some energy back. Thnx.

What is the cause of chronic fatigue syndrome?
I know there isn't a known and proved cause. But i was wondering what you think caused it? I think it could be something to do with excess lactic acid. Which is why it effects more healthy people because they do more exercise and will have produced more of it if they over did it. Just a theory of mine, what about you?My legs and arms always feel like i've just done a big run, especially my legs, they feel as though they're covered in lactic acid.

ok now for a few months everysingle day about 2 hours after i woke up i would get extremely tired like extremely, but just a few weeks ago my doctor gave me wellbutrin because of my server anxiety and depression, he thinks thats what is causing the fatigue, i asked him about the cfs anywho the meicine worked a little bit but within a week i was back the same as before, then one day i deicded to suck it up and exercise and fight it, and it actually worked, within one day i could actually make it through the day without wanting to die, i even played a little soccer with my friends and ran around the block a few times, i also have really good days wehre i can skateboard, this has been working for about a week now but today i woke up and i was kind back to the same as i was before, but i also felt like i didnt really sleep right, i woke up like 10 times and never felt like i was in a deep sleep, cause my problem from the beginning be that i have a sleep problem and that the reason why im so tired, because from what i hear if you have cfs you dont just have a god week where you can run around and play soccer. but im not sure i just dont want to have it, im hopeing this is all just a sleep problem

All started when i couldn't play soccer i started to feel VERY VERY FATIGUE. Then it lead to constant headaches insomnia. I got headaches all day long. now i got backpain,neck,lymp nodes. arm pain. also i am dizzy all the time. I am just completely achy all over my body.I had gotten mono about 5 months ago..had it bad for month and half then i was completely ok for about month then i am back down again. MONO went away..but could these be mono symptoms again? i wasnt dizzy tho..every day also when i breath in through my nose my chest hurts. also fast heartbeat all day long redness around eyes for months..
